Your ceremony. Your story. Your way.
You don't need to arrive with a plan, a Pinterest board or a perfectly written love story. You just need to bring yourselves. We'll take it from there.
Perhaps you've already imagined the whole thing. Perhaps you've got a vague idea involving a beach, your favourite people and a dog who may or may not behave. Perhaps you haven't got the foggiest. All are excellent places to start.
We'll have a relaxed chat about what you're thinking, what matters to you and whether I'm the right celebrant to bring it to life. No hard sell. No pressure. Just a conversation.
Somewhere in all those stories are the things that make your relationship yours.
The place you first met. The song you always come back to. The ridiculous holiday story that still makes you laugh. The people who have shaped your lives. The things you've survived together. The tiny details that nobody else would think were important, but somehow are.
I'll listen for those threads and start bringing them together.
Not to turn your life into a polished performance, but to create a ceremony that feels like the two of you.
Then we find the threads
Tell me your story - no homework, no right answers, no boxes to tick
I'm not going to send you away with a giant questionnaire and expect you to condense your relationship into neat little paragraphs. Some people love a form. Others experience immediate white-coat paperwork syndrome at the sight of one.
Instead, we'll find the way of telling your story that feels natural to you. A coffee and a chat. A walk. A video call. Photographs. Voice notes. A few prompts to get you talking. You tell me. I'll listen.
Then we create something that feels like you
By now, I'll have a good idea of what makes your relationship yours — the people, places, stories, quirks and moments that matter. Now we start turning all of that into your ceremony.
We'll talk about how you want your ceremony to feel. Maybe you want something deeply personal and emotional.
Maybe you want your guests laughing within the first five minutes.
Maybe you want a little tradition mixed with something completely unexpected.
Maybe you have very definite ideas. Maybe you don't have a clue. That's all absolutely fine.
I'll guide you through the choices, suggest ideas where they're useful and help you work out what belongs (and what doesn't) in your ceremony.
There is no perfect formula. No prescribed order. No requirement to include something simply because everyone else does.
We'll create something that tells your story, reflects your relationship and feels comfortable in your hands.
Your ceremony doesn't need to impress anyone. It needs to mean something to you.
And then, we celebrate
The day you've been talking about, planning and imagining has finally arrived.
I'll be there to help everything feel calm, welcoming and wonderfully you — from the first hello to the final words of your ceremony.
I'll guide you through the day, keep an eye on the little details, making sure you don't have to worry about what's meant to happen next.
And if something unexpected happens? We'll deal with it.
A nervous laugh. A forgotten line. A wandering child. A dog with other ideas. A ring that disappears. A gust of Cornish wind at exactly the wrong moment.
These things don't ruin a ceremony. Sometimes they're the moments everyone remembers.
My job isn't to make your day look like it came from a wedding magazine. It's to help you feel present enough to enjoy it.
Because underneath all the planning, the readings, the vows and the music, this is the bit that matters:
You're here. You're together. And you're celebrating your story.
And then, you keep it
The ceremony might only last an hour or so.
The memories will last much longer.
That's why I want the things we create together to feel like yours — not something that could have belonged to anyone.
The stories you tell. The words you choose. The promises you make. The little details that made their way into the ceremony along the way.
They're part of your story now.
And long after the flowers have faded, the confetti has been swept up and everyone has stopped asking you whether you've had a lovely day, you'll still have those moments to look back on.
Maybe you'll remember the words that made you cry. Maybe you'll remember the bit that made everyone laugh.
Maybe you'll remember your dog wandering somewhere he absolutely shouldn't have been.
Hopefully, you'll remember how it felt to stand there together and hear your story told back to you.
Because your ceremony isn't just something you do on the day. It's something you get to keep.
What could your ceremony include?
There are no rules about what has to be in a ceremony. But there are plenty of things we can play with.
Handfasting · Readings · Vows · Music · Rituals · Family · Friends · Children · Pets · Stories
Maybe you want to bring in a tradition that's been passed down through your family.
Maybe you'd like to create something entirely new.
We'll find the things that mean something to you — and leave the rest behind.
But will we be legally married?
Not through the celebrant ceremony itself.
In England and Wales, celebrant-led wedding ceremonies aren't currently legally binding. You'll need to complete the legal formalities separately with a registrar.
Think of it as two parts: the legal bit makes you married; your Beautiful Chaos ceremony makes it yours.
You can do the legal ceremony before your celebration, on another day, or keep it very simple and private — then have the ceremony you actually want with your family and friends.
