A little bit of the boring stuff
I want booking a ceremony with Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy to feel straightforward, personal and reassuring. These terms explain how bookings work and what you can expect from me — without drowning you in legal jargon.
By making a booking with Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy
Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy is a sole-trader celebrancy business based in Cornwall.
I am currently completing my celebrancy training and am building my business around creating personal, meaningful ceremonies for real people and real life.
Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy is not a limited company and is not VAT registered.
2. My ceremonies
I create and conduct bespoke celebrant-led ceremonies, including:
- Weddings and commitment ceremonies
- Vow renewals
- Other bespoke ceremonies agreed with you
Every ceremony is written specifically for the people involved. This means the content, format and preparation involved may vary from ceremony to ceremony.
I will work with you to create a ceremony that reflects your story, your personalities and the things that matter to you.
3. Important: celebrant ceremonies are not legally binding
A ceremony conducted by Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy is a celebrant ceremony and is not, by itself, a legally recognised marriage or civil partnership ceremony in England and Wales.
If you are getting married or entering into a civil partnership, you will need to complete the appropriate legal formalities separately with the relevant authority.
I will happily work with you to make sure your celebrant ceremony and legal formalities fit together in a way that works for you.
It is your responsibility to make sure that any legal requirements relating to your marriage or civil partnership have been completed.
4. Booking your ceremony
Your ceremony date is not considered fully booked until I have received the agreed £100 booking fee and confirmed your booking in writing.
The booking fee secures your date and is deducted from the total cost of your ceremony.
Once your booking has been confirmed, I will reserve your ceremony date for you and begin the preparation involved in creating your ceremony.
5. Fees and payment
The price of your ceremony will be confirmed to you before you book.
Your quotation will explain what is included in your chosen package and any additional costs that may apply.
A £100 booking fee is payable when you book.
The remaining balance is due 28 days before your ceremony date.
If your ceremony is booked less than 28 days before the ceremony date, the full balance will be payable at the time of booking.
Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy is not VAT registered, so VAT is not added to my prices.
I will always discuss any additional services or expenses with you before they are incurred.
6. Changes to your ceremony
Life happens. Plans change. Venues change. People change their minds. Sometimes the weather has other ideas.
Reasonable changes to your ceremony can be discussed with me during the planning process.
If a significant change requires substantial additional work, travel or other costs, I will discuss this with you before proceeding.
7. Postponing or changing your date
If you need to change your ceremony date, please let me know as soon as possible.
Where I am available on your new date, I will do my best to transfer your booking to the new date without additional charge.
Your original £100 booking fee will transfer to the new date.
If I am unavailable on your preferred new date, the cancellation terms below will apply.
8. Cancellation by you
I understand that sometimes circumstances change and a ceremony may need to be cancelled.
If you need to cancel, please let me know in writing as soon as possible.
My cancellation arrangements are:
More than 12 weeks before your ceremony
Your remaining balance will be refunded. The £100 booking fee will be retained to cover the reservation of your date and work already undertaken.
Between 12 and 4 weeks before your ceremony
50% of your remaining balance will be refunded.
Less than 4 weeks before your ceremony
The remaining balance is non-refundable.
These arrangements are intended to reflect the work already undertaken and the likelihood of being able to rebook your date.
If I am able to rebook your date, I will take that into account when considering any refund that may be due.
9. Cancellation or inability to conduct a ceremony by me
I will make every reasonable effort to conduct your ceremony as agreed.
In the unlikely event that I am unable to conduct your ceremony because of serious illness, emergency or circumstances beyond my reasonable control, I will let you know as soon as possible.
Where possible, I will make reasonable efforts to help you find an alternative celebrant.
If I am unable to provide the agreed service and you do not wish to use an alternative celebrant, all payments made to Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy for the affected ceremony will be refunded.
10. Venues, outdoor ceremonies and weather
If your ceremony is taking place outdoors, you are responsible for ensuring that there is a suitable alternative arrangement if weather or other circumstances make the planned location unsuitable.
I will happily embrace a little Cornish weather — but I draw the line at being blown into the Atlantic halfway through the vows.
The ceremony location should provide a safe and suitable environment for the ceremony to take place.
11. Travel and additional expenses
Your quotation will explain what travel is included in your chosen package.
Where additional travel, accommodation, parking, venue access or other reasonable expenses are required, these will be discussed with you in advance.
I will never deliberately spring unexpected costs on you.
12. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for providing me with accurate information needed to create your ceremony and for letting me know about any changes that may affect it.
You are also responsible for ensuring that:
- your chosen venue is suitable and available;
- any required legal formalities are completed separately;
- any permissions required for your ceremony or venue have been obtained;
- relevant information about timings, access and arrangements is provided to me;
- I am made aware of anything that may reasonably affect the ceremony.
13. Ceremony content and personal information
Creating a personal ceremony means you may share information, stories and memories with me.
I will treat the information you share with care and respect and will only use it for the purposes of providing the services you have booked, unless you have separately given permission for another use.
Your personal information will be handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy.
14. Ceremony materials
The ceremony script and other materials I create for you are prepared specifically for your ceremony.
You are welcome to enjoy, keep and share the materials provided to you for your personal use.
They may not be commercially reproduced, sold or used to create another ceremony or service without my permission.
15. Photos, stories and sharing
Your ceremony belongs to you.
I may occasionally ask whether you are happy for me to share photographs, words or little glimpses of your ceremony to help future couples see what Beautiful Chaos is all about.
You never have to say yes.
Choosing not to give permission will never affect the service you receive from me.
Any permission you give will be handled separately through my Photos, Stories & Sharing consent page.
16. Circumstances outside our control
Sometimes things happen that nobody can reasonably prevent — extreme weather, transport disruption, venue closure, serious illness, emergencies or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Where this happens, I will communicate with you as soon as reasonably possible and work with you to find a sensible solution.
17. Complaints
I want you to be happy with the service you receive from Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy.
If something hasn't gone as expected, please tell me as soon as possible so that I have an opportunity to understand what has happened and try to put things right.
Any complaint can be made by contacting me using the details on this website.
18. Responsibility and limitations
I will provide my services with reasonable care and skill and will work with you throughout the planning process to create and conduct your ceremony.
I cannot guarantee that circumstances outside my reasonable control will not affect a ceremony.
I cannot be responsible for services provided by third parties, including venues, photographers, caterers, musicians, registrars or other suppliers.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
19. Changes to these Terms & Conditions
I may occasionally update these Terms & Conditions as Beautiful Chaos Celebrancy develops.
The Terms & Conditions that apply to your booking will be those in place when you make your booking, unless we subsequently agree otherwise.
20. Questions
If you're unsure about anything in these Terms & Conditions, please ask.
I'd much rather explain something properly than have you trying to decipher a sentence containing seventeen commas and the word “hereinafter”.
